to become a volunteer
STEP ONE:
Fill out the Volunteer Application completely. The more information you provide about yourself, your interest, your background and your skills helps us to determine what capacity you would be most suited for as a Siloam volunteer. Please return the volunteer application via email, mail or fax to:
Volunteer Services Department
Siloam Family Health Center
820 Gale Lane
Nashville, TN 37204
Fax: 615-577- 4010
Email: Adam Woods, Volunteer Coordinator at adam.woods@siloamhealth.org
STEP TWO:
If your application is accepted, you will be invited to attend a New Volunteer Orientation. Orientation takes place once a month in the Siloam Education Center and consists of an extensive tour, training videos, and a review of the expectations and requirements of the Siloam Volunteer Program.
NOTE: Physicians, Physical Therapists and other specialist providers undergo a separate credential approval process to become a Siloam Volunteer and see patients. Contact Debbie Barnett, Director of Volunteer Services for more information about the documentation needed to begin this process at debbie.barnett@siloamhealth.org 615-298-5406 ext. 112.
If we are unable to utilize your skills as a volunteer at the present time, your application will be kept on file, when volunteer positions become available.
STEP THREE:
Self-scheduling - new volunteers are asked to take the initiative by scheduling their own volunteer shifts with the Volunteer Coordinator, Adam Woods. A first day of service typically involves shadowing an experienced volunteer as well as training and observation time. For each shift of volunteer service, we ask that you be able to serve for the duration of the clinic shift. Clinic hours of operation are:
Monday 9-12 1-5 6-8
Tuesday 9-12 1-5 6-8
Wednesday 9:30-12 1-4:30
Thursday 9-12 1-5 6-8
Friday 9-12
Saturday 9-12
(Note: Each clinic session begins 15 minutes before the start time with a prayer gathering of the staff and any volunteers who are scheduled to work that shift.)
